DNS Progress Launches Lokatera: the Save Location App for Android
October 2026 · DNS Progress Team
Today we are launching something we have been building for a long time: Lokatera, our save location app for Android, is officially live on Google Play.
If you have ever screenshotted a map pin, typed an address into a notes app, or dropped a location into a chat with yourself and then never found it again, Lokatera is for you. It is a single, private map where every location you care about is saved properly — not as text, but as a real place with a pin, photos, and notes attached.
Why we built a save location app
Look at how most people actually save a location today. A screenshot here, a WhatsApp message there, a note that says “the coffee place near the office, the one with the green sign”. Each one works in the moment and fails a month later.
The problem is not memory. The problem is that a location is being stored in tools built for lists. Coordinates are precise, photos are instant, and groups are searchable — a notes app can do none of that.
Lokatera is built around the opposite idea: a map is the primary way you save and find a location. Everything else is attached to the pin.
What you can do with Lokatera
- Save any location in seconds. Drop a pin on the exact spot, give it a name, and you are done. Save it while you are standing there, not later.
- Add photos and notes. Attach photos straight from your camera and keep practical notes and phone numbers on the saved location — store hours, parking, stock levels.
- Organise saved locations into groups. Colour-code groups by area, type of place, or project so a busy map stays readable.
- Share a saved location with your team. Invite people into a workspace with a link, a QR code, or a short 6-character code, and control which groups each member can see.
- Stay private by default. Your saved locations are yours. Share a single place or a whole workspace when you choose to, and keep the rest to yourself.
Lokatera is available in seven languages, including English and Bahasa Indonesia, and each member of a workspace can use a different one.
Free to start, built to grow
The Free plan is free forever: save unlimited locations and groups with one workspace, two members, and 150 MB of photo storage. You only pay when your team outgrows it — paid plans raise the number of workspaces, members, and photo storage for your saved locations.
| Plan | Workspaces you own | Members per workspace | Photo storage | Photos per place |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | 1 | 2 | 150 MB | 1 |
| Starter | 1 | 5 | 2 GB | 2 |
| Team | 3 | 15 | 10 GB | 3 |
| Business | 5 | 50 | 50 GB | 4 |
Photos are optimised before they are uploaded, so a map with hundreds of pictures still opens instantly on mobile data. Your quota is counted from the size of the photo you upload, and the app states that on the photo form so the number is never a surprise.
Built by DNS Progress, for everyone
Lokatera is our first public product, and it is built entirely in-house by the DNS Progress team — from the first sketch to the Play Store listing. It is also a working proof of the same process we use for client projects: focus on the problem, ship a small version, listen to users, and improve.
You can read more about how we build products in our article From Idea to Launch, and how to save a location properly in How to Save a Location. Teams that need to share saved locations can start with Save Locations for Your Team.
